Former President Donald Trump was endorsed by two former NFL stars at a rally in Latrobe, Pa. — as he talked up his energy policy, especially his support for fracking.
Former all-pro running back and one-time New York Jet Le’Veon Bell and controversial ex-wide receiver Antonio Brown both got onstage at the campaign event at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport to voice their approval the GOP presidential nominee.
Brown, clad in a red MAGA hat, got on the microphone and said , “Let’s vote for Trump! Let’s make some noise for the president!” Brown could be heard on the mic telling Trump that he “loved him.”
“Let’s go Trump, you already know, vote Trump, let’s go,” Bell said forcefully.
Brown then led the crowd in a “Here we go Steelers” chant.
Before Trump took the stage Brown gave his own speech and ripped Democratic VP nominee Gov. Tim Walz, who was a high school football coach.
“And by the way Tampon Tim Walz, he isn’t a real football coach,” Brown said, referring to a derisive nickname GOP opponents gave Walz for his approval of allowing tampon dispensers in boys rooms.
“He could never guard me.”
Throughout the extended rally, Trump had his sights set on his Democrat rival Kamala Harris – tagging her as a “radical left liberal” highlighting the differences between the two potential presidents on economic, immigration, and energy policy.
“Kamala has said repeatedly that she wants to ban fracking, which would kill over 500,000 jobs in Pennsylvania alone,” Trump said before introducing a video compilation of Harris promoting the Green New Deal.
“I will terminate the New Green Scam,” Trump said in contrast.
“We will frack-frack-frack and we will drill baby drill,” the former president intoned.
The Republican candidate torched Harris for her economic plans – saying she would raise taxes on Americans. Trump said that he would, instead, eliminate tax on tips and on overtime.
On immigration, Trump told the story of a town in Pennsylvania, Charleroi, that saw a massive increase in the amount of illegal migrants during the Biden-Harris administration.
“This mentally deficient president put her in charge of the border,” Trump mocked.
Trump said migrants are “taking over apartment complexes”, adding, “Like I do, I’m in the real estate business, also, they do it differently: they do it with guns, I do it with financing.”
Trump went on to call Harris a threat to democracy.
“She shouldn’t even be the candidate, they should have picked a candidate fairly,” referring to Harris’ ascension to the top of the Democrat ticket after President Biden ended his candidacy under pressure from fellow Dems.
Trump also ragged on the Veep for snubbing the vaunted Al Smith Dinner earlier this week. He called the video Harris submitted in absentia – which featured SNL-alum Molly Shannon – “an insult to Catholics.”
Trump ended his extended remarks on Palmer by insinuating that the legendary golfer was legendarily endowed.
“I refuse to say it, but, when he took showers with the other pros they came out of there and they said “oh my God”, unbelievable,” Trump said, cracking up the crowd and himself in the process, adding, “I had to say it.”
“I had to tell you the shower part of it because it’s true.”
Elon Musk is also in Pennsylvania campaigning on the former president’s behalf. The SpaceX billionaire held a town hall in the Keystone State on Friday.
